About Iit'l gud gad Haida Heritage Plaza
Community Healing Project
The Haida Heritage Plaza will allow the Haida people to memorialize their history. It will serve as a monument to the people who have lost their lives throughout history to Small Pox, Residential Schools, and other hardships faced by the Indigenous community. The monument will tell the story of the Haida people and ensure that the culture is preserved for thousands of years. This memorial will be written in Haida and translated to English and French to preserve the language forever.

The Haida Heritage Plaza also serves as a community gathering place and an outdoor public space for cultural activities. The plaza has the support of the Elders, Dancers, Artists, and others who pass on the culture of the Haida Peoples. The plaza will be equipped with lighting and electrical equipment for sound and video. It has anchor points for the community to install tents for large events and will include seating and benches for workstations for cultural activities.
